Privacy

Your account. When you sign in, we store your email address and a secure session token. You can sign in with an email and password, or with Sign in with Apple or Google. Your password is never visible to us; it is hashed and verified by our authentication provider. If you add a preferred name during setup, we store it to greet you in the app. Your account carries a random account ID, and each device you sign in on gets its own random device ID so we can keep your plan within its device limit. We do not share either one, and neither is ever used to track you.

Your daily focus minutes. Each day, your total active benching time is recorded as a single number per day and synced to our servers. This is what lets your park's progress follow you to a new device, and what powers any future progress features.

Subscription receipts. If you subscribe, the App Store sends us a receipt through RevenueCat (our subscription provider) so we know whether your account is active.

Approximate location, only for weather, only if you allow it. To show your local weather in the park, the app sends your approximate location to our weather provider, WeatherAPI.com. If you don't grant location access, it uses the rough area from your IP address instead. Your location is used only to fetch weather; we don't store it on our servers or use it for anything else.

Which specific apps you opened. We have no idea what apps you use day to day. iOS Family Controls is intentionally privacy-walled: the app cannot read which apps you tried to open during a bench.

Per-app usage time, for free accounts. The screen time of each individual app stays on your device. It never reaches our servers.

Per-app benching history, for free accounts. Which apps you sent to the bench stays on your device unless you have a premium subscription.

iOS Screen Time data. Apple's Screen Time framework renders that card live inside the app. Those numbers never reach our servers and never leave your device.

Analytics, advertising, or third-party trackers. Parkbench ships with no analytics SDKs, no ad networks, and no tracking pixels.

A premium subscription unlocks deeper history features that require syncing more of your data:

Per-app screen time. Your day by day app usage breakdown is synced so it follows you across devices. When you upgrade, your existing on-device history is synced retroactively.

Per-app benching attribution. The list of apps you benched during each focus session, and the total minutes each app was benched per day, is synced too. This is data you authored by choosing which apps to bench.

History range. Free accounts can see today's focus stats. Premium accounts can see the last 30 days.

Synced data lives in our Supabase project, in databases hosted in the United States. Subscription receipts and customer state live in RevenueCat. Both providers are SOC 2 compliant and bound by data processing agreements.

On-device data lives where you'd expect: in your phone's storage, sandboxed to the Parkbench app.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone outside the providers listed above. Within our team, account access is limited to the people who need it to run Parkbench and help you, and only for a clear reason: a support request you have made, or a legal requirement such as a subpoena.

Active accounts. As long as you have an account, we keep your synced data so your history continues to follow you.

After cancellation. If your subscription lapses, we keep your synced data for one year. This lets you resume premium without starting from zero. After one year, your synced data is deleted automatically on a nightly schedule.

Account deletion. You can delete your account at any time from inside the app: Settings, then Account, then Delete account. This permanently removes your account and your synced data. You can also email support and we will do it for you within 30 days.

On-device data. Your phone's data is yours. Parkbench never touches it without your action.

Apple App Store verifies your subscription. Apple's privacy policy applies to anything that happens on the store side.

WeatherAPI.com receives your approximate location, or your IP address, to return your local weather. It doesn't receive your account or any other personal data. See https://www.weatherapi.com/privacy.aspx for their policy.

Parkbench is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has signed up, please contact us and we will delete the account.

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the 'Last updated' date at the top of this page and announce the change in-app or by email before the change takes effect.
